A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Scripture Memory ~ Peace
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives do I give to you.
Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
Not as the world gives do I give to you.
Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."

Scripture Memory~ Bridle Your Tongue
I want to continue with my Scripture Memory in 2013. My goal is to memorize and meditate on 2 scripture verses a month, one on the 1st and one on the 15th.
* I just finished studying through the book of James with my Aberdeen Women's Fellowship friends and have been convicted by this verse. I don't need to say everything that comes to my mind. I should control my tongue!
James 1:26
"If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless"

Scripture Memory~ Great is His Faithfulness!
Well, I've missed posting some of my Scripture memory because it's been crazy with preparing to move and a car situation we have been having which had us using the bus quite a bit to get Maddy to and from school. But the Lord cared for us each step of the way and continues to.
I am reminded today of the Lord's great faithfulness. Our move from our old flat went smoothly and quickly yesterday because we had so much help from friends - praise the Lord! Now this week we are unpacking and getting settled. It will be nice to be close enough to Maddy's school now to walk!
Hope your week is blessed and you are reminded of the steadfast love of the Lord!

22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;[a]
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

Scripture Memory~ He is my Rock.
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
(Psalm 62:5-7 ESV)
for my hope is from him.

On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.

Scripture Memory~ June 15/2012
James 1:19,20 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
*Let's just say I have not been as patient with my sweet girls as i would like to be(especially when *ahem* I am trying to get out of the door on time). So I need this reminder right now!

Scripture Memory~ June 1
Accountability is good for me. It seems to have helped my menu planning to be accountable to post my meals on my blog, so I thought I would do the same thing with my scripture memory goals as well.
Two friends of mine Lacie and Danielle from VA posted about their scripture memory goals and I jumped on board with their challenge!
The basic idea is to just memorize 2 verses a month. One on the 1st of each month and one on the 15th of each month. I have loved it because it's a reasonable goal (not too many verses) and yet such a wonderful way to refresh my heart and mind with the truth of God's word.
I try to stay accountable to a few friends to pick new verses, but I am not too hard on myself (or them) about having every single word memorized. My goal is to meditate and think on the scripture at least 1x a day or more if I am able. I write my verse on a note card and put it by my sink where I hand wash my dishes.
WHEN I have consistently remembered to pick a new verse and write it down, I am always glad that I did as it helps to renew my mind and tuck truth away!
I suppose that's why I'm posting here 1. to keep myself accountable 2. hopefully to encourage others by God's word 3. to challenge others to be hiding God's word in their heart as well.
Hope you'll join me!
So here's my verse for June 1:
Galatians 2:20
